Penmachno is a beautiful old village built around the river Machno. Its church, St Tudclud’s, houses some of the oldest Christian inscribed slabs in Britain.

Penmachno from Moel Pen y Bryn

There is a popular pub, ‘The Eagles’, which is located only about 100 yards from Tŷ Crwn. It is small and friendly, and is frequently the hub of village activity.

Penmachno is in the middle of some wonderful walking country &ndash the beautiful Glascwm valley, the panoramic hilltop of Moel Pen y Bryn, pony trekking, mountain biking, the historic National Trust owned Tŷ Mawr – all are close by.

Venture slightly further for the lovely holiday centre of Betws y Coed (about 4 miles) with its variety of fine eating places; or discover some of the more ‘off the beaten track’ places – Cwm Penmachno with its historic quarry walks, Llyn Conwy for absolute peace and tranquility, Capel Garmon with its Neolithic burial chamber &ndash the list goes on, and there are many more hidden gems just waiting for you to discover yourself!
